Christian Formation Committee

Faith formation is an ongoing process; and it is crucial that Catholics continue to develop, study and grow in their Christian faith. Continuing education for adults, has been set up to assist all parishioners to know more about Jesus Christ and to deepen their desire to live in compassion, forgiveness, mercy and the love of God and their fellow person.

The Christian Formation Committee (CFC) at Cure d'Ars is resposible for supporting and facilitating opportunities for faith formation and strengthening members of the parish.
The Committee serves the adult Cure d’Ars community by supporting and developing areas that further the mission of the church to educate, form and develop.  The committee searches out needs of the parish community and initiates programs to address the needs. This is done trough a variety of activities scheduled throughout the year. Example of those include: Celebration of Black Marriage, Grief Counceling, Religion and culture activities, and special activities to highlight the Advent and Lenten liturgical seasons.

Beginning in the fall 2005, the CFC is facilitating a year-long exploration of Catholic teachings in relation to Social Justice. This will be done through a series of workshops and discussion groups that will focus on teachings related to Community, Work, and Associations; the Poor and Vulnerable; respect for Life; Stewardship, Immigration and other related topics. As result of this exploration, the parish will be better equipped to decide when and how to support social issues from the call of justice and the call of righteousness.
